Curtis Jones has warned his Liverpool team-mates that their Champions League tie with Paris Saint-Germain is far from over. The Reds completed one of the biggest smash and grabs on Wednesday night when they claimed a 1-0 win at the Parc des Princes.

Harvey Elliott was brought on four minutes from normal time to replace Mohamed Salah and seconds later scored with his first touch to secure his side a huge victory. However, that goal only told half of the story.

The Reds had been second best for most of the contest and had Alisson Becker to thank for not falling behind. The Brazilian produced a man of the match display that many believed was one of the best displays produced by a goalkeeper in the Champions League.

And taking to social media on Thursday afternoon, Jones wrote: “Far from over. See you at Anfield!” Speaking after the game, Reds boss Arne Slot said: “We’re the lucky ones, that’s clear for everyone. I think they were the much better team today, especially in the first half (when they had) three or four big, big chances.

“In the second half, they were still the better team, still had a lot of shots on target, but they were mainly from outside the box.

“That’s why Alisson still had to make a lot of big saves. I have had some very good players as a manager but never the best goalkeeper in the world until now.

“He showed that he is the best in the world today. To go away with a win here was probably a bit more than we deserved.”
