Arne Slot was not willing to risk Cody Gakpo in Liverpool's Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday after he felt discomfort in training earlier this week.
The Dutch international has been a key player for the Reds this season and his attacking threat was missed at the Parc des Princes, but Liverpool got the job done without him, recording an important 1-0 win ahead of the last-16 second leg at Anfield next week.
It doesn't sound as though Gakpo's problem is particularly serious, but the prognoses are not as bright for the likes of Joe Gomez, Conor Bradley and Tyler Morton, all of whom have been missing for several weeks with no returns imminent. Here's the state of play on Liverpool's injuries:

What Arne Slot said (on March 4)... "He was close to being ready to play again, but unfortunately yesterday I think it was, he had to block a shot, so he felt a bit of pain again. We took him with us to judge how he is tomorrow, if he can be part of the squad, yes or no. But it will be a close call."

Joe Gomez
