**Iga Swiatek spoke about watching Steph Curry in the NBA as she prepares for her Indian Wells title defence.**
The Pole is in consistent form but is yet to win a title this season as Swiatek has often fell at the most important hurdle.
However Swiatek is remaining determined as she heads into California looking to win a third consecutive title at Indian Wells.
It’s the first time in a few years that Swiatek enters the tournament without winning a title and Swiatek is refusing to compare to previous years as she detailed her preparation for the tournament, _“I don’t remember how it was last year,”_ the Pole explained to the WTA website.
_“I know that every swing is different. For example, two years ago in the Middle East I also got two walkovers. This year I didn’t. There’s no way to compare one year to the other, because that story can be totally different._
_“We got here on Friday, and I wanted to come here earlier to have a full week of practice before actually even focusing on a tournament. It was more for me and my game and me developing as a player. It was nice, because here you can really practice in a peaceful way and with no other distractions. I really enjoyed this.”_
An important tournament awaits Swiatek as she aims to keep up with world number one Aryna Sabalenka and carry some momentum into the clay court season.
There is no better way to prepare for the tournament by watching Steph Curry play for the Golden State Warriors in the NBA.
Speaking on the experience Swiatek observed what she can take from the American heading into Indian Wells, _“So it wasn’t really super exciting till the end. They were winning it pretty easily. But still, watching Steph live was amazing, and, for sure, you can see the skills straightaway,”_ Swiatek stated.
_“I also thought about how it is for him when everybody just expects from him to have these three-point shots. I really, really respect how he manages that. I was super grateful for the reception, because, I don’t know, I wasn’t really expecting that. It was amazing and I really appreciate that.”_
Swiatek will take to court on Friday where she will face Caroline Garcia in her opening round match.
