Jose Mourinho once said he had Richarlison in his pocket, and now David Moyes wants him at…

A number of potential summer transfer targets are starting to surface at Everton with just weeks remaining in the season.

David Moyes will be keen for new faces to come through the doors on Merseyside quickly in the summer, with plenty of players set to leave.

Everton will have a number of areas where they will need to bolster both numbers and quality.

The Friedkins wanted to sign two players in January, but the Toffees were severely limited with the threat of PSR looming over the club.

This is going to change over the coming months, with The Friedkin Group ready to spend money in the summer.

And there is one player of interest to Everton who would come with the backing of Jose Mourinho.

Jose Mourinho praised Everton target Victor Lindelof for shutting down Richarlison

Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof is a defender believed to be on Everton’s radar ahead of the summer window.

He is a player with plenty of Premier League experience having spent around eight years in England.

And during his time under legendary manager Mourinho, the Sweden international was praised after shutting down Richarlison at Vicarage Road.

“I think Richarlison is a very good player and a difficult player to play against, but Victor is very fast,” Mourinho told MUTV.

“He has adapted to play centrally but also to go to the sides because he’s got the agility that many of the central defenders don’t have. I think it was another very positive performance by Victor.”

Lindelof is a long-standing target of Everton, with the Blues having kept a close eye on his situation ahead of his contract running out this summer.

He would arrive on Merseyside with Mourinho’s backing; however, whether he could disrupt Everton’s starting centre-back pairing is another matter.

What Zlatan Ibrahimovic said about Lindelof

Mourinho is not the only high-profile name to praise Lindelof over the years, though.

The Swede’s time at Old Trafford has certainly been a turbulent one, with the defender struggling for regular minutes over recent years.

However, his compatriot Zlatan Ibrahimovic has previously claimed Lindelof is a player capable of playing for most of Europe’s top sides.

“I think Victor is doing great things, he is playing good for Benfica, he gets a lot of responsibility for the national team now, he is growing,” Ibrahimovic said in 2016.

“Is he good enough for [Manchester] United? I think he’s good enough for the big clubs out there. It’s up to him what he wants. Whatever he chooses will be good for him.”
