Browns restructure Deshaun Watson’s contract

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - As the new league year is set to open next week (March 12), the Browns are making moves to free up cap space for adding new players. Cleveland restructured quarterback Deshaun Watson’s contract once again, this time clearing almost $36 million. Before the restructure, the Browns were nearly $23 million over the cap.

Watson signed a five-year, $230 million fully guaranteed deal, and according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Cleveland has already paid off a significant portion of it. Watson is currently rehabbing from a second Achilles tear.
