The West Ham vs Newcastle Premier League clash on Monday night is an eagerly anticipated one from both sets of fans.
And Paul Merson has made his prediction for the Premier League showdown between West Ham and Newcastle.
Michael Salisbury will referee the West Ham vs Newcastle clash – a decision that the Magpies will be very angry about considering their history with him.
With both teams in need of all three points, it should be a thrilling encounter.
Eddie Howe will be without numerous key players for the Hammers clash, with the likes of Anthony Gordon and Lewis Hall set to miss out.

Meanwhile, West Ham are set to welcome Lucas Paqueta back from injury for the Newcastle clash, and Graham Potter will be delighted about that.
It should be a great game of football at the London Stadium on Monday night, but who will take the spoils?

However, a win against Newcastle will be paramount in order for that to be at all possible.
Meanwhile, Newcastle need a win to help breath fire back into their push for the Champions League spots.

“If it weren’t for the cup final next week, I would have backed Newcastle. I think they will be cautious about more players picking up injuries, and that might hurt them against West Ham.“
Prediction: West Ham 2-0 Newcastle
Even with Newcastle’s injuries, and the cup final on the horizon, any Hammers fan would admit that that is a shock prediction from Merson.
I would obviously take a 2-0 win all day long, but I really don’t think it will be easy at all against the Magpies.
West Ham vs Newcastle head-to-head
West Ham haven’t beaten Newcastle at home since March 2019!
In fact, we have had more wins away from home against them than we have at home.
Since our move to the London Stadium in the summer of 2016, we have played the Toon seven times at home and only beaten them once.
However, in our last seven meetings with them both home and away, we have lost twice, won twice and drawn three times against the Magpies.
Hopefully the Hammers will record another win against the Toon in four day’s time.
Paul Merson has boldly predicted a 2-0 win for the home side in the West Ham vs Newcastle clash, and that kind of result would set us up perfectly for the final 10-game run-in.
