Leeds United are already looking ahead to life in the Premier League, with Hugo Bueno possibly the start of a rebuild at Elland Road.
Daniel Farke’s side have their sights set on the top-flight as they occupy the top spot in the Championship, sitting three points clear of Sheffield United in second place.
Promotion is only half the battle at Elland Road though with maintaining a Premier League spot just as important in Leeds’ development.

Leeds United eyeing up Bueno amid Junior Firpo news
Although Farke will not be keen to get too far ahead of himself, having his sights set on the summer transfer window means his side will be ready for business if they do go up.
The boss has certainly got himself a settled side that is full of plenty of talent, but if he wants to seek survival in the top-flight, he will need to make additions to his Whites squad.
MORE LEEDS STORIES
Several players may be concerns with questions of whether they can deliver to the required levels in the Premier League.
One of those players raising questions is Junior Firpo who finds himself out of contract at Elland Road after the conclusion of this season.
The 28-year-old has had a good season in the second-tier, contributing three goals and eight assists. However, according to TeamTALK (6 March), it is unlikely that his current club will renew his contract due to concerns over his abilities in the league above.
Season League Appearances Goals Assists

2023/24 Championship 29 0 8
2022/23 Premier League 19 1 1

As a result, Bueno has been identified as a potential replacement for Firpo in West Yorkshire with Leeds considering making a bid in the summer.
The report states that Nottingham Forest are also interested in Bueno, which could prove to be stiff competition for Farke’s side.

Bueno could be great addition at Leeds United
After coming up through the Wolves academy set-up, Bueno has gone on to make 42 Premier League appearances but after Rayan Ait-Nouri’s strong form limited his minutes, he was loaned out to Feyenoord this season.
The 22-year-old has done well in the Netherlands though, contributing four assists across 23 matches as well as making five Champions League starts.
Therefore, his experience playing at the top level would surely make him a great addition to the Leeds team who are looking to succeed in the Premier League next term.
At such a young age too, there is plenty of room for further development, compared to Firpo who is 28-years-old and will be 29 in August.
These are the types of changes that the boss has to make to keep his Leeds side moving forward, replacing older players with people who are younger and the potential to go further.
If Bueno is the first signing of the Leeds rebuild then it could well be a sign of more good things to come.
