Liverpool’s performance against PSG will go down as one of the most incredible and surprising of the entire season.
The Reds scored with their one shot on target as Alisson Becker enjoyed what he described as his best performance yet for Liverpool, with the Brazil international making nine saves and giving supporters a display for the ages.
Although Steve Nicol slammed Liverpool for their showing in Paris, the Reds coming away from the French capital with a 1-0 lead is nothing short of extraordinary, given how dominant PSG were during the contest.
And former Arsenal star Emmanuel Petit has now shared what ‘shocked’ him and everyone in France whilst watching the game.

Speaking on After Foot, the pundit noted how Alisson’s performance left all of France in shock, with Petit in awe by what he saw from the Liverpool goalkeeper and the levels the 32-year-old reached at the Parc des Prances.
Although Alisson’s performance wasn’t enough for a 10/10 rating from L’Eqiupe, the Liverpool superstar easily enjoyed his best game yet for the Reds, and Petit’s reaction post-match showed just how legendary this display will become in years to come.
Petit said: “Alisson had a crazy match, that’s all. He was in a state of grace, he shocked everyone. If he does not make these exceptional saves, Parisians would have shaken Liverpool, as I had never seen this since the start of the season. You do not realise the performance of PSG.

“I watch Liverpool every weekend in the Premier League, if Alisson had an average game, Liverpool would concede four. Even having defended well collectively, they were still missing that X Factor. They never panicked, but if you don’t have Alisson, when you see hand he had on all stops, he was monstrous.”

Alisson showered with praise after ‘Jesus-like’ performance
Alisson’s showing in France is one that won’t be forgotten about for some time, with the Liverpool star showing why he’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world and a player who cannot be replaced heading into next season.
And praise for the shot-stopper’s performance has been high since last night, with Alisson compared to Jesus Christ by Brest’s manager in what was easily the most extraordinary piece of admiration for the Brazilian.
With Thierry Henry also lauding Alisson, the Liverpool no. 1 will head into this weekend with an extra spring in his step, with the South American showing why he’s one of, if not the, best keeper in the world.
