Leicester City may be left feeling somewhat frustrated this week as Atlético-MG look to sell winger Alisson to Shakhtar Donetsk.
Goal Brasil cover the situation today, explaining that Atlético have received a proposal from the Ukrainian side for the 19-year-old.
They explain that the deal could reach around €14.5m if they agree to the sale, with the Brazilian side set to pocket a further €2m in bonuses down the line. The variables for that are considered achievable behind the scenes.
Representatives from Shakhtar travelled to Brazil for a meeting with Atlético’s executive director Paulo Bracks this week. They’re meeting again on Thursday to resolve the situation and strike an agreement.
That might come as frustrating news for Leicester, who actually made a proposal for Alisson in the January transfer window.
They offered €13m for the deal, however negotiations did not progress as Alisson Atlético decided they wanted to keep him. They also believe Leicester’s offer was low.
Now, two months later, it appears they’ve changed their stance and are willing to negotiate a deal with Shakhtar this week.
So, it appears the Foxes will miss out on their January target, who it seems might have been available had they simply offered a little more or tried to convince Atlético a little harder.
