Everton have gone through a lot of managers over the last decade.
During Farhad Moshiri’s eight-year reign, he sacked a whopping six managers and on reflection, maybe some dismissals weren’t the correct decision.
Marco Silva, who was given his marching orders by Moshiri at the end of 2019, is now flourishing at Fulham and could lead them to Europe this term.
Silva has since been linked with the Chelsea job, further evincing how highly he’s regarded around the Premier League.
Now, another one of Everton’s former managers is starting to really impress and could make a return to the top flight next season.

Frank Lampard impressing at Coventry City
Everton sacked Frank Lampard at the beginning of 2023 after a torrid run of form which left the club in a relegation battle.
Moshiri’s decision was justified as Sean Dyche was able to retain the Toffees’ Premier League status in back-to-back seasons, despite a points deduction.
Lampard had another difficult spell with Chelsea as an interim, so many started to think perhaps he wasn’t suited to management.

However, he’s proved doubters wrong this season as he’s completely changed the fortunes around at Coventry City since taking over from Mark Robins in November.
The Sky Blues have gone from a relegation battle to the prospect of a play-off campaign, as they now sit in fifth place.
Coventry have won eight of their last nine Championship games and are division’s form team.
Lampard has deservedly been earning a lot of plaudits, particularly around his tactics.
Lampard had secret talk with Pep Guardiola before taking Coventry job
Speaking to The Athletic, Lampard revealed that he held a meeting with Pep Guardiola a month before he joined Coventry which really inspired him.
“About a month before this job came up, I went up to Manchester City to do an interview with Rodri and I got the opportunity to sit down for 45 minutes with Pep (Guardiola), which was amazing,” the Coventry boss said.
“Before I even started coaching, I had a couple of days at City and I was just amazed by his engagement on the training ground with the players. That’s exactly what I want to be, something like that. What’s my version of being in there next to a player, going through everything?”
Asked what he learned from the talk, Lampard replied: “I think it’s definitely the tactical ideas and concepts, but everyone has their own version of that.
“What I also came away buzzing about was the energy. This was early in the season, and Pep has been there for a long time, and you could just feel this bundle of energy and interaction and love for the game.”
