JJ Redick Sends Stern Luka Doncic Warning to NBA

The Los Angeles Lakers notched their seventh consecutive victory with a 136-115 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night.

Since Luka Doncic made his Lakers debut in a 132-113 win over the Utah Jazz on Feb. 10, the Lakers have notched an 8-2 record. Under first-year head coach JJ Redick, the Lakers hold the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference with a 39-21 overall record.

Doncic struggled with shooting in his first few games with the Lakers, but has since found his stride. In Tuesday's win over the Pelicans, the 26-year-old NBA superstar dropped 30 points on 9-19 shooting from the field and 6/13 shooting from behind the three-point arc.

Earlier this week, Redick issued a stern warning to the rest of the NBA when it comes to trying to stop Doncic.

"The nature of playing with Luka Doncic is if you play drop coverage against him, you're going to die," Redick said after the Lakers' win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday.

Through two games in March, Doncic is averaging 29.5 points, 12.0 assists and 7.0 rebounds per game, shooting 50% from the field and 44% from behind the three-point arc.

The Lakers will look to continue their red-hot winning streak in a home matchup against the New York Knicks on Thursday night. On Saturday, the team will begin a four-game road trip with a matchup against the reigning-champion Boston Celtics.

Thursday's matchup against the Knicks will tipoff at 10 p.m. EST from Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena.
