West Ham XI vs Newcastle: Confirmed team news, predicted lineup

Jarrod Bowen will lead West Ham from the front against Newcastle

West Ham will need to make decisions on both Lucas Paqueta and Vladimir Coufal for Monday’s Premier League clash with Newcastle.

The Hammers host the Magpies on Monday evening, with Graham Potter’s side looking to build.

Indeed, West Ham beat Leicester 2-0 last time out to claim consecutive Premier League victories for the first time in almost a year, having shocked Arsenal earlier last month.

While beating the Foxes is perhaps not the biggest surprise in the world, the Irons should feel confident about Monday’s game.

Newcastle sit sixth in the Premier League table but are missing key players through injury and suspension and have rarely convinced on a consistent basis over the past few weeks.

Potter’s chances of claiming a third win on the spin would no doubt be boosted by having the likes of Paqueta and Coufal back, however.

Paqueta suffered an ankle injury in training and has missed their last two Premier League games, while Potter has previously sounded hopeful about a potential return for Coufal.

Speaking before the win over Leicester, Potter said: “Both players are progressing but won't make the squad on Thursday. Vladi certainly has a chance for Newcastle and Lucas, we'll just have to see how he responds but certainly for Leicester no."
