Oh no: “Complete” Liverpool player could be “offered” to clubs this summer

Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer, amid claims that Arne Slot doesn’t value him enough.

The 24-year-old has grown into a valuable squad player for the Reds, providing a combination of technical ability and industry at the heart of the midfield.

While Jones is currently behind Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai in the pecking order, he is now a genuinely reliable option.

On Wednesday evening, the Englishman produced a mature cameo away to Paris Saint-Germain, bringing calm to the team and helping Liverpool secure the most unlikely of 1-0 wins.

According to InterLive [via Sport Witness], however, Jones’ Liverpool future could be up in the air this summer, due to Slot not considering him a regular starter.

It is stated that he could be “offered” to other clubs by his agents at the end of the season, potentially paving the way for a surprise exit. Inter Milan are one of those who are believed to be interested, and he is valued at £33.5m.

Jones leaving would be a huge shock

While Jones is no doubt desperate to be starting matches for Liverpool every week, it would be a big shock if he looked for a new challenge this summer.

His playing more than enough to be considered an important part of Slot‘s plans, making 34 appearances in all competitions this season, and the Reds’ head coach recently praised him, saying:

“He has a lot of qualities on the ball. He is never afraid to do something special with it, but sometimes he touches the ball a bit too much in my opinion because he is so confident. But confidence is an important tool. He has an incredibly hard work rate and we trust him in defence. He is complete. For him now, it is all about consistency. The best players turn up every three days and that is what he has got to show.”

Jones keeps needing to improve all the time, considering he is battling with world-class midfielders for minutes, but at 24, there is still so much to come from him. Hopefully, he stays put for many more years.
