Sixers tease Iverson-Era jerseys in season ticket renewal

They can’t do a boathouse row fakeout again, right?

The Sixers released their renewals for season ticket-holders for the 2025-26 season, and with it they teased something that could be coming next year that fans have wanted for a long time.

“As we prepare for the 2025-26 season, we’re drawing inspiration from a team that personified the type of grit and tenacity required to compete for a championship – the 2001 76ers led by Allen Iverson. Throughout the upcoming season, we will celebrate the 25th anniversary of our NBA Finals team by honoring their legacy with exclusive events, themed celebrations, and special recognitions. We think you’ll like the uniforms we’ll wear on the court next season, too.”

This almost certainly has to be to black throwbacks the team wore from 1997-2009. This isn’t the first time this era that fans thought they’d be coming back. The team teased when they released black City Edition jerseys for the 2020-21 season, using Allen Iverson in the promotional material.

With another opportunity to honor the last team to make it to the NBA Finals and not much to look forward to on the horizon, it seems like the team is finally bringing back the fan-favorites.

As someone who grew up in the waning years of Iverson’s time as a Sixer, I personally am more partial to the red and blue alternate versions, but the road blacks seem like the obvious choice to bring back.

Maybe there will be a brand new star, someone like a Cooper Flagg or Dylan Harper, to make this look a fan favorite for the next generation as well.
