Liverpool will try to sign Kingsley Coman from Bayern Munich for around £40m in the summer
Liverpool are planning a coup to sign Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman in the summer transfer window. The Reds want to sign an experienced winger to strengthen their attack, and Coman seems to be the right candidate for that.
The English club is going to be busy heading into the summer. Arne Slot will look to address a few positions and adding more depth in the wings seems to be one of them.
CaughtOffside reports that Kingsley Coman will be available for around £40million and Bayern Munich will let him go as he is currently out of favour at the German club. The French forward is also being targeted by Newcastle United and Arsenal.
Still only 28-year-old, Coman already has immense experience under his belt. The winger started his career at Paris Saint-Germain, before moving to Juventus in 2014. The Frenchman won the league multiple times while he was in Italy, before his move to Bayern Munich in 2017.
Kingsley Coman might end up at Liverpool after all
Coman has won everything there is to win at the German club during his time there. The winger has six goals and four assists in all competitions for Bayern Munich this season. He has also fallen down the pecking order and given limited game time by Vincent Kompany.
The France international was on Arsenal’s radar last summer, but a move failed to materialise. However, this time several clubs in Europe and in Saudi Arabia are said to be interested in him.
CaughtOffside also reports that the Bayern Munich No. 11 prefers to stay in Europe and would prefer a move to England or Spain. This will surely give Liverpool a huge boost should they continue to pursue a deal for the winger.
Will Kingsley Coman be a good fit for Arne Slot?
Liverpool need to strengthen their attack in the summer, regardless of what happens to Mohamed Salah’s contract situation. The Reds appear willing to offload Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota and will need to sign a replacement as soon as possible.
Kingsley Coman will be a good rotational option at Liverpool
Coman could act as a good rotational option for the Reds. The Bayern Munich forward is known for his pace and dribbling. Although he lacks finishing, the France international can do an excellent job in carrying the ball out of difficult situations and get the team into the final-third of the pitch.
The ex-Juventus player also tends to cut inside from the wing and put in an early cross. Arne Slot prefers a winger who has this attribute. Coman’s pace will help the team during counter-attacks as well.
