According to Hoops Wire, the LA Lakers are among several teams expected to pursue a trade for KD this offseason, alongside the San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets, and Miami Heat.

Before the Feb. 6 trade deadline, the Heat, Timberwolves, and Golden State Warriors were interested in acquiring Durant. However, any potential deals fell through after Durant made it clear he wasn't looking to leave the Phoenix Suns.

The 36-year-old KD is set to earn $54.7 million next season, the final year of his contract.

This season, he is averaging 26.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 49 games.

Despite having Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal, the Suns are struggling with a 29-33 record, sitting 11th in the Western Conference.

The Lakers, meanwhile, hold the No. 2 seed with a 39-21 record, but acquiring Durant would be a difficult task, requiring a creative approach from the front office.

With no cap space available this summer, the Purple & Gold would likely need to put together a trade package to make a deal work. A potential offer could include Austin Reaves, Dalton Knecht, Cam Reddish, a 2031 first-round pick, and a 2030 first-round pick swap -- but even that might not be enough to land KD.

LeBron and Durant won the gold medal in the Paris Olympics last summer.
