A handful of the biggest names in college basketball spurned the NBA Draft last offseason to return for another year of college hoops in 2024-25. Director of scouting Adam Finkelstein and national college basketball analyst Isaac Trotter broke down the cases of Mark Sears (Alabama), Johni Broome (Auburn), RJ Davis (North Carolina), Jaxson Robinson (Kentucky) and Alex Karaban (UConn) with the NCAA Tournament set to begin in less than two weeks.
Sears and Davis have had eerily similar seasons. The two diminutive scoring guards set program records during their 2023-24 campaigns but have seen their scoring and efficiency plummet this season. However, NBA scouts may grade the two on the large samples of work rather than a one-year run in new-look offenses.
