2025 NBA Draft stock watch: Johni Broome, Mark Sears headline major movers entering March…

A handful of the biggest names in college basketball spurned the NBA Draft last offseason to return for another year of college hoops in 2024-25. What impact has the regular season had on their draft stock, and can it change during March Madness? Director of scouting Adam Finkelstein and national college basketball analyst Isaac Trotter broke down the cases of Mark Sears (Alabama), Johni Broome (Auburn), RJ Davis (North Carolina), Jaxson Robinson (Kentucky) and Alex Karaban (UConn) with the NCAA Tournament set to begin in less than two weeks.

Sears and Davis have had eerily similar seasons. The two diminutive scoring guards set program records during their 2023-24 campaigns but have seen their scoring and efficiency plummet this season. However, NBA scouts may grade the two on the large samples of work rather than a one-year run in new-look offenses.

Broome earned first-team All-SEC honors in 2023-24 but has taken his game to a new level this season and is one of the favorites for National Player of the Year. His NBA Draft stock is at an all-time high, but will the league have a role for a 23-year-old forward with limited outside game?
