The New York Giants are in the market for a starting quarterback after parting ways with former No. 6 overall pick Daniel Jones in the middle of last season.
The Giants have the No. 3 overall pick in this April's draft and could select a quarterback like Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders. They've also shown heavy interest in 41-year-old four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers is set to be released by the New York Jets on June 1, making him a free agent with the freedom to sign with any team. On Thursday afternoon, Giants reporter Art Stapleton revealed that Rodgers' representatives have been in negotiations with the Giants.
While it remains to be seen who general manager Joe Schoen will bring in as his starting quarterback for the 2025 NFL season, he addressed the potential backup or emergency third quarterback role just hours after Stapleton's report on Rodgers.
According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Giants re-signed Tommy DeVito.

According to Josh Alper of NBC's Pro Football Talk, the 26-year-old signed his exclusive rights free agent (ERFA) tender worth $1.03 million.
The contract is for one more season.
DeVito just completed his second NFL season after signing with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Syracuse in 2023.
Over his career, he has played in 12 games, starting eight, and has thrown for 1,358 yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions.
