Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe took over operations at Manchester United with the purchase of his 27.7% stake in the club, cuts have been made left, right, and centre, seeing a significant number of staff leave.
Now, the cuts are seemingly set to be made closer to the top, in INEOS’ latest bid to cut costs at the club amid significant financial pressures.
The Red Devils are now suffering after years of financial mismanagement have brought the club into significant concern.
With the pressure of staying compliant under Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), Ratcliffe has already sanctioned 250 redundancies, with a further 200 to be made, reducing the staffing but approximately 40% since he took over.
However, some major names at the club haven’t been able to escape the cut, with Sir Alex Ferguson’s global ambassador role coming to an end and Jackie Kay leaving her role as head of operations.
Now, Manchester Evening News has confirmed that three more senior positions are set to leave in the coming summer.

Three senior executives choose to leave Manchester United
One of the individuals departing the club is people and transformation director Annie Hale, who has been responsible for delivering the latest round of redundancies. Hale is set to leave the club after she completes the club’s second redundancy programme, axing 200 members of staff.
Alongside her is chief commercial development officer James Holroyd and London-based commercial director Florence Lafaye, with the pair having spent over a decade at the club.
Sources close to the club are keen to highlight that the trio aren’t being forced out or being made redundant, however are leaving of their own accord.
As such, it’s expected that the three will be replaced, however no firm decisions have been made.
