Outspoken Rival Makes Shocking Statement About Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles laid waste to one of the greatest dynasties of all time in Super Bowl LIX. The 40-22 game wasn't even as close as the score may have indicated with the Birds leading 34-0 at one point.

But just because the Eagles win was clearly dominant doesn't mean everyone came away impressed.

Buffalo Bills outspoken defensive tackle Dion Dawkins spoke on the Pivot podcast with Ryan Clark and stated clearly that he felt his team would have put up a better fight against the juggernaut that was the Eagles this season.

"We would've put on a better show in the Super Bowl; We would've put on a better show. And, shoot, I am part of my team, so I think my team is gonna put on the best show regardless of anybody performing. We are the ones. We're raw," said Dawkins. "Our quarterback is raw; our line is raw; d-line is raw. We put on the best show and perform at a high level; we would've had a better chance, in my eyes."

Dawkins' point of having Josh Allen is difficult to break down. First, while the reigning league MVP was certainly excellent this season, Buffalo did not have the pass-catching options to truly threaten Philadelphia's elite secondary.

The Bills were also bad this year defending the run - especially in their playoff loss to the Chiefs.

If the Chiefs were able to stop Saquon Barkley but couldn't stop Jalen Hurts, who is to say that the Bills would have been any better without that ability to stop the Offensive Player of the Year.

It's what makes Dawkins' claim at least laughable right now.
