Texas will be well-represented throughout the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Longhorns sent a program-record of 14 players to the NFL Combine this year and each of them have a great chance of being selected throughout the seven-round draft in April.
Three of those players should hear their name called in the first round. In nearly every major NFL mock draft following the combine, a trio of Longhorns are projected on Day 1.
Offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. has consistently remained Texas' top rated draft prospect for 2025, but cornerback Jahdae Barron and wide receiver Matthew Golden saw their draft stocks skyrocket over the last few months as well. Will Banks, Barron or Golden be the first Texas player taken off the board on April 24?
NFL media analyst Charles Davis released his post-combine NFL mock draft on Thursday. As expected, the trio of Longhorns were included in the first round. Banks is the first Texas player projected in Davis' mock at No. 10 overall to the Chicago Bears.
"With Banks at left tackle and 2023 first-round pick Darnell Wright at right tackle, they have their bookends on the O-line for the next decade," Davis said of Banks' fit with the Bears.
Barron landed with the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 21 and Golden is slated to the Washington Commanders at No. 27 overall.
Last year, Texas saw two players selected in the first round in Byron Murphy and Xavier Worthy. Player development at Texas is clearly at an all-time high under head coach Steve Sarkisian.
