Defensive line is one of the biggest needs for the Miami Dolphins in free agency and the NFL Draft.
Athlon Sports' Luke Easterling has Miami getting that defensive line help in his latest mock draft, as he has the Dolphins selecting Derrick Harmon out of Oregon with the No. 13 pick.
Harmon spent the first three seasons of college at Michigan State before transferring to Oregon for his final season. He was a game-wrecker for the Ducks in 2024, racking up five total tackles to go along with five sacks, two forced fumbles, and two fumbles recovered. He finished with 8.5 total sacks in his collegiate career.
According to NFL.com and Next Gen Stats, Harmon received a production score of 78 at the NFL Combine, fourth best among all defensive linemen. He received a total score of 79, also the fourth best among defensive linemen.
Harmon received a prospect grade of 6.38, meaning he will "eventually be plus starter," according to the combine grading scale.
He would join a Dolphins team that was solid in run defense in 2024, allowing just 103.9 rushing yards per game, ninth best among all defenses, but he struggled with getting to the quarterback.
The Dolphins had just 35 sacks on defense, which was ranked 27th in all of football. Only the Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers, Tennesee Titans, Atlanta Falcons, and New England Patriots had fewer team sacks.
A game wrecker like Harmon would do wonders for a Miami defense that will be looking to return to form in 2025.
