Rasmus Hojlund’s scoring drought continued during Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad.
It has now been 19 consecutive games without a goal for the 22-year-old, but he put in a much better performance in San Sebastian.
Gary Neville was ‘worried’ about Rasmus Hojlund after his display for Manchester United against Fulham, and fans are growing impatient with the Danish forward.
But Hojlund impressed against Real Sociedad and caused problems in the final third – even if he was still unable to find the back of the net.
It was Joshua Zirkzee who broke the deadlock for United, scoring his first-ever goal in Europe after connecting with Alejandro Garnacho’s cutback.
Before that, Rasmus Hojlund was denied a huge chance to open the scoring.

Rasmus Hojlund fumes at Diogo Dalot
Despite his poor run of form, Hojlund’s effort cannot be questioned, and against Real Sociedad he repeatedly ran in behind the Spanish side’s defence even if he was not picked out by his teammates.

But one moment in the first half saw Hojlund lash out at Diogo Dalot for failing to find him in the box.
When Dalot was played in behind, Hojlund beat his defender and an easy pass into the box would have set him up with a huge chance. Instead, Dalot cut inside and played the ball backwards.
Journalist Laurie Whitwell spotted the moment immediately after where Hojlund went “crazy” at Dalot for his poor decision.
“Hojlund went crazy at Dalot for failing to pass to him when there was opportunity in that attack. Rightly so,” Whitwell wrote on X.
Paul Scholes slammed Dalot for his “unacceptable” decision, and it feels as though United could be returning to Manchester with an advantage if he simply played the pass.
