BOSTON — The Celtics and 76ers are without multiple stars and rotation players for their 7:30 p.m. Thursday game at TD Garden. So it’ll be a lean night for both sides. But, as expected, Jayson Tatum will suit up and is available after missing the Celtics' win over the Blazers from the night before.
Tatum was upgraded from questionable to available on the C’s injury report as he was listed with a right shoulder issue. Sam Hauser, who tweaked his right ankle in the Blazers win Wednesday, went from questionable to out. That means the C’s are without five total rotation players Thursday.
The C’s were already without four key guys, who were all listed as out on the injury report. Jrue Holiday (mallet finger), Kristaps Porzingis (illness), Jaylen Brown (right knee) and Al Horford (toe) will miss Thursday’s game. Holiday and Porzingis will sit their fourth straight game with their respective issue. Brown and Horford both played Wednesday against the Blazers.
The Sixers also have a lengthy injury report, though that’s been the case all season. Tyrese Maxey will sit his second straight game with a back injury he suffered earlier this week. Paul George was listed as questionable on the injury report, but he was downgraded to out, as well. Former MVP Joel Embiid was already ruled out for the rest of the season, among others. Justin Edwards went from questionable to available.
