The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will look to improve their defense overall this offseason, but specifically their pass rush.
Last year's second-round pick, Alabama defensive end Chris Braswell hasn't developed as fast as the team had hoped. And while there's certainly time for him to still become a force. But in the meantime, the Bucs need to improve for 2025.
On Thursday, the Cincinnati Bengals granted star edge rusher Trey Hendrickson permission to seek a trade. As his price tag rises, he's pricing himself out of the Bengals' market.
While Hendrickson could be a good fit with just about any team, not everyone has the cap space and need on the defensive line like the Buccaneers do. Also, how great would Hendrickson look in a Bucs uniform?
The former Florida Atlantic defender has 77 career sacks including 17.5 in each of the last two seasons. He finished second in AP Defensive Player of the Year voting in 2024 while being honored with First-Team All-Pro. He's also a four-time Pro Bowler.
What would it take to get Trey in Tampa Bay?
Based on the contract that Maxx Crosby just signed in Las Vegas, it'll take a lot to keep him once you give up the late first-round or early second-round pick to get him.
Crosby's deal is three years and $106 million. Hendrickson will most likely demand something close, or at least a $30 million APY.
