Stephen Curry Goes Viral for What He Did Before Halftime in Warriors vs. Nets

Warriors guard Stephen Curry has put up some big moments of late, especially as Golden State has strung together seven wins in its last right games, a run that has vaulted the Dubs to the No. 6 spot in the Western Conference--a position that comes with the advantage of avoiding the play-in tournament and guaranteeing a place in the NBA playoffs.

In that stretch, Curry has posted a 56-point game (on Feb. 27 in Orlando) and has averaged 28.3 points on 52.1% shooting, 44.3% from the 3-point line. After that 56-pointer, team defenses focused on getting the ball out of his hands and he complied, racking up 10.7 assists per game in his next three outings.

Curry turns 37 in eight days, but is still showing top-line production on the floor, and coach Steve Kerr said recently that he's as healthy as he has been all season.

"Steph's in a great place right now, his knees are doing better than they were a couple months ago. So that's a great sign," Kerr said.

On Thursday in Brooklyn, Curry and the Warriors were facing the Nets when Brooklyn put Golden State well behind early, by a 35-15 margin at the end of the first quarter. But the Warriors chipped back from there and, having cut the lead to just eight points in the final seconds befoer halftime, the team called on Curry to pull it even closer.

As usual, he complied.

With 2.0 seconds to play and two defenders guarding him closely, Curry had the ball out near the Nets' midcourt logo. Curry struggled to create room for himself but finally tossed up a 38-footer as time ran out in the half.

He kept on running back to the locker room while shot was in the air, confident in the result. Sure enough, it went in.

"STEPH CURRY FROM MID COURT. COME ON," the Warriors wrote on their team Twitter/X account. The video racked up more than 150,000 views in 20 minutes.

The shot clearly gave Golden State momentum--two minutes into the third quarter, the teams were tied.
