Ben Simmons Planning $17 Million Move After Leaving Brooklyn

Ben Simmons is starting a new NBA chapter after moving across the country to join the Los Angeles Clippers, but has one piece of lingering business in Brooklyn.

Simmons agreed to a buyout with the Nets in February and signed with the Clippers. As Keith Smith of Spotrac reported, Simmons gave back $1.1 million in his buyout, which made him eligible to sign a veteran minimum contract with the Clippers.

But Simmons has a chance to earn that back -- and more. The former All-Star is closing out business in Brooklyn, with the New York Post reporting that Simmons is listing his Brooklyn condo for close to $17 million -- which would bring a tidy profit from his purchase price just two years ago. The report noted that Simmons bought and combined two units for $14 million in 2023.

The home covers the 21st floor of a building in the city's Dumbo neighborhood, covering a total of 5,261 square feet.

"It's so big, he could probably play basketball in the apartment," an insider told the New York Post at the time it was purchased.

"Listing photos show signs of Simmons' time there, like a bedroom-turned-home gym, a floor-to-ceiling acrylic display case filled with Simmons' collection of vinyl bear statues and a dedicated shoe closet," the report added.

Simmons appeared in 33 games for the Nets this season with 24 starts, averaging 6.2 points per game with 6.9 assists and 5.2 rebounds. He has appeared in five games so far with the Clippers, with his average ticking slightly upward to 6.8 points per game.
