Wojciech Szczęsny says he’s not thinking about his future just yet amid speculation that Barcelona want him to stay for another year.
The Poland international stole the headlines in midweek with a stellar showing as Barcelona beat Benfica 1-0 in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.
Szczesny was quizzed on his future after the game but isn’t thinking past the end of the current campaign right now.
“Will I sign a new contract in the summer? I’m not worried about that right now,” he told reporters.
“My focus is on the matches, I want to give my best at Barcelona and then we will look at my future, at the right time.”
Speculation after the game has claimed that Barcelona are planning to offer a new one-year contract to the goalkeeper and want him to stay after impressing in the first team under Hansi Flick.
