Brooklyn Nets Make Record-Breaking Announcement During Game vs. Warriors

The Golden State Warriors closed out a five-game road trip on Thursday night against the Brooklyn Nets at Barclay's Center. In the midst of a re-build, the Nets have struggled to fill their home arena, ranking No. 24 in total attendance in the NBA.

But, the Warriors tend to attract a crowd no matter where they're playing. As long as Stephen Curry is active and expected to play, Curry (36) still puts butts in the seats. Thursday night's performance did not disappoint. That's assuming fans filled the building to see Curry do Curry things, as the Nets blew a 22-point lead falling 121-119 to the visiting Warriors.

During Thursday's game, it was announced that the record had been broken for attendance at Barclay's Center for a Nets game. 18,413 fans were in attendance to watch Curry drop 40 points for the second time this season.

18,413 fans were also in attendance to witness Curry hit one of the more ridiculous, in-game shots of all-time.

Despite Curry's impressive, 40-point performance, the Nets put up a good fight against the Warriors. They jumped out to a 27-5 lead, their largest of the game, with 4:39 left in the first quarter. Both healthy and back in the lineup, Cameron Johnson and Cam Thomas dropped 26 and 23 points, respectively. The Nets have exceeded expectations, having won 21 games so far this season.

As for the Warriors, after going 4-1 on this road trip, they'll enjoy a well deserved day off before hosting the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night.
