Joshua Kimmich is currently the talk of the transfer market because the Bayern Munich player is months away from becoming a free agent.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly offered to sign the Germany international on a free transfer this summer. Liverpool are another club credited with an interest in Kimmich, alongside Arsenal.

Speculation has increased this week before and after the first leg of Bayern's round of 16 tie against Bayer Leverkusen, coinciding with the midfielder returning from a thigh injury that kept him out of their weekend match with his former club, Stuttgart. Here are the latest Reds transfer rumours...

Kimmich update

Bayern Munich and Joshua Kimmich are said to have held new talks over a contract extension on Thursday. Sky Sports Germany reports that both parties are willing to renew the player's deal and are working on finalising an agreement.

Kimmich claimed after their midweek match that "the ball is not in my court," but it now appears the situation has changed. He also acknowledged following that game that "my plan was to do it before the international break", and that timeline could now be realistic again.

Bayern had previously withdrawn a contract offer. However, it now appears to be back on the table.

Alisson contract renewal

Liverpool are reportedly very close to renewing the contract of Alisson. Fichajes claims the club want to finalise a new deal for the goalkeeper as soon as possible.

The Athletic's football correspondent David Ornstein also spoke about the player's contract situation on Wednesday night's edition of the Back Pages podcast. "There's been a lot of talk about [Alisson's] future," he said.

"I think he's got a year left on his contract at the end of this season. All the discussion about Salah, Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold and their potential renewals or not; what about Alisson?

"Shouldn't he be getting a new deal? Maybe that's one that Liverpool will come on to."
