Manchester United take on Arsenal in Sunday’s much-awaited Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils go into the game with plenty of injury concerns, but we can still expect a close contest, considering the Gunners are also missing several attacking players.
There has been much talk about Chido Obi facing his former employers.
His impressive performance in the FA Cup fifth-round defeat against Fulham has led to suggestions that he should lead the line instead of Rasmus Hojlund on Sunday.
However, manager Ruben Amorim has dropped a big hint that Hojlund will continue as the main man up front following his post-match comments yesterday.
The Portuguese tactician said that the 22-year-old was ‘trying hard’ and ‘gave everything’ against Real Sociedad in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16.
Amorim pointed out that Hojlund got into some good scoring positions and added he needs to think in the best way for the next game [against Arsenal on Sunday].
His comments clearly suggest that the Dane won’t be dropped from the starting XI for Obi.
Obi created three big chances for himself against Fulham. He failed to capitalise on those opportunities. Bernd Leno made a stunning save to deny him a debut goal.
On the contrary, Hojlund has rarely had a big chance to score in his last 19 appearances. He made the perfect run last night, but Diogo Dalot failed to provide a cross.
Despite this, Amorim has continued to speak positively of the £50 million-rated star. We expect him to lead the line when United face the Gunners at the weekend.
