Newcastle United are set for a rather interesting time of things this summer.
Such have been the PSR restrictions on Newcastle United for what feels like an age now, owners PIF have not invested in Eddie Howe’s squad to any significant degree.
However, all that could change this summer.
While expecting Roman Abramovich levels of investment seems unwise given the rules in place, Newcastle insiders are confident they can spend big this summer after selling players while keeping their powder dry when it comes to big money signings.
Newcastle recently announced their revenue had jumped up to £320.3million in their latest round of financial accounts, which paints a pretty healthy picture.
Still, having the money to sign elite players and actually convincing them to come are two different things entirely.

Dean Huijsen set to snub Newcastle United as next move revealed
Newcastle are interested in Huijsen, who is said to have a release clause worth around £50million in his contract.
Huijsen was recently spotted holding a Newcastle shirt too, raising hopes about a potential move this summer.

They claim that there is now a growing sense the defender will join a truly elite club such as Real Madrid or Bayern Munich instead.
Newcastle United scouting new defender amid Dean Huijsen interest
Huijsen has been a fine signing for Bournemouth and looks as if the world is at his feet, so it’s only natural that other clubs would be interested.
Newcastle are keen to strengthen their defensive line, however, and are not limiting their options to just the Cherries star it would seem.
Indeed, Geordie Boot Boys have been told that Newcastle are interested in Southampton and England defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis as a potential long-term replacement for Schar.
Though Huijsen would surely be a more exciting signing, perhaps the level of interest in him means Newcastle have to get a touch more realistic…
