Liverpool FC's Ben Doak, who is on loan this season at Middlesborough in the Championship, appears to have had his season ended by injury. According to Craig Johns, reporting for Teesside Live, Doak has returned to Liverpool for treatment after undergoing minor surgery for a thigh injury sustained during training.
Doak suffered an initial injury in late January, causing him to miss six matches. There was optimism manager Michael Carrick regarding a mid-March return, but this latest development has effectively killed those hopes. Doak had been doing well on this loan, registering three goals and seven assists across 24 appearances, before this injury curtailed his season.
We wish Ben all the best in his recovery, and hopefully, he’ll be able to come back stronger from this injury. This season was a great stepping stone to where he wants to be, and we all look forward to what he’ll be able to do next season.
