FC Barcelona started the current season with their ranks significantly weakened with injuries, but things have improved in this respect to a high extent in the last few weeks.
Important players like Gavi, Frenkie de Jong, and Dani Olmo have all recovered from their injuries, and are now regularly playing for Hansi Flick.
With their returns, Marc Andre Ter Stegen, Marc Bernal, and Andreas Christensen remain the only players who are still present in the infirmary recovering from their physical issues.
At the time he tore his patellar tendon back in September, it looked like the German goalkeeper would not be able to play again this season. However, his recovery has progressed in very good fashion in the last few months, raising hopes of him being available to play again this season.
Meanwhile, the speed of his recovery is continuing to improve, cutting further down on the deadlines identified for his possible return. In the latest update on this matter, SPORT reports that the Barcelona captain can now return to action as soon as April.
There is no doubt that the Blaugrana club and the player himself will not take any unnecessary risks. However, if he continues to recover with the same pace that he is showing up to now, there will be no stopping the veteran goalie from getting back on the pitch soon.
For now, Ter Stegen is quite satisfied with how Barcelona, his doctor Carles Monllau, and the Catalan club’s professionals are all approaching his injury.
