Report: TFG could be set to make major Everton announcement this weekend

The Friedkin Group are going to have a huge opportunity this summer to put their stamp on Everton after a busy first few months on Merseyside.

It has been an encouraging past few months for Everton fans, who are finally seeing their club head in the right direction.

The decision to replace Sean Dyche with David Moyes is one which has shown the Friedkins that change can pay off.

And that is exactly what is instore for the Toffees over the coming months.

Everton have decided against extending Abdoulaye Doucoure’s contract in the first of many big contract decisions.

However, there could be even more changes made off the pitch over the coming weeks and months.

There could even be an announcement made this weekend.

The Friedkins are taking the club in a new direction with Marc Watts already appointed as executive chairman following the takeover.

Although Kinnear’s confirmation is expected, it is still believed he will remain with the Yorkshire outfit until the end of the season.

This development comes amid speculation surrounding the future of Kevin Thelwell.

Everton are expected to move on from Kevin Thelwell, who is also out of contract – like many players – at the end of the term.

The Friedkin Group to change Everton boardroom set up

This is a significant change to what Farhad Moshiri had in place behind the scenes on Merseyside.

What will now be interesting to see is whether the Friedkins decide to replace Thelwell or whether they will make a big change in moving away from a director of football.

Everton are eyeing Dan Ashworth as a potential Thelwell successor following his departure from Manchester United.

Among other reported names, Ashworth would keep some consistency at the club in terms of how transfers functioned.

But a fresh start could well be on the radar this summer, with plenty of changes available for the new owners to implement both on and off the pitch.
