Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has given his prediction ahead of this weekend’s high-stakes Premier League showdown between Manchester United and Arsenal at Old Trafford.
Arsenal will head to the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday hoping to revive their fading title ambitions. Mikel Arteta’s side had the opportunity to close the gap on league leaders Liverpool to just five points earlier this month. However, a disappointing defeat to West Ham and a frustrating draw against Nottingham Forest have left them trailing by 13 points in the title race.
The Gunners’ struggles in front of goal had become a major concern, with just two goals in four matches before their stunning 7-1 victory over PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League earlier this week. Six different players found the net in that historic away win, which marked the biggest-ever first-leg victory in a Champions League knockout tie.

Meanwhile, Manchester United’s form has been inconsistent, with Erik ten Hag’s side managing just two wins in their last seven matches across all competitions. They head into Sunday’s fixture following a 1-1 draw against Real Sociedad in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie in Spain.

Speaking onThe Overlap’s It’s Called Soccer! show, Neville acknowledged United’s struggles but believes they could rise to the occasion against Arsenal.
“Manchester United are playing so poorly at the moment, but they do sometimes lift their game against big opponents,” Neville said. “I think that will be the case on Sunday. The crowd will be with them, and I think it will be 1-1.”

Host Rebecca Lowe, however, backed Arsenal to secure a victory at Old Trafford.
“I’m going 2-0 to Arsenal. Sorry, Gary! I know Arsenal haven’t got any strikers, but I just don’t see a way that Manchester United win that game,” Lowe added.
With Arsenal looking to stay in the title race and Manchester United desperate to steady their season, all eyes will be on Old Trafford for what promises to be a crucial encounter in the Premier League.
