Christopher Atherton was on target for Glenavon in the win over Loughgall

Paddy McLaughlin is calling for increased protection for ‘one of the best young players coming out of Irish football in a long time’ so that local fans can enjoy his talents before he makes the jump to join one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.
McLaughlin was overjoyed as Christopher Atherton set Glenavon on their way to a crucial 2-0 win over Loughgall on Tuesday night.
