Franco Umeh-Chibueze’s stay at Crystal Palace is set to come to an end after this season.
The 20-year-old initially joined the Eagles’ youth team in 2023 and has played for their U18 and U21s. Oliver Glasner included him in the match day squad several times in 2024 and once this year.
Umeh-Chibueze didn’t end up making his first team debut for Crystal Palace. His contract expires in June and the Premier League club have offered him an extension.
That’s according to Africa Foot, who state the winger has rejected the renewal proposal.
Glasner’s decision to not hand him minutes with the senior team has convinced the young attacker to change clubs in the summer window. His decision to decline the contract offer has seen him attract ‘more and more interest’ from elsewhere.
Africa Foot state FC Twente and Sporting are keeping a close watch on his situation and both clubs are said to be in pole position.
The Portuguese club have started talks with the Eagles youngster to explain their project. Twente have sent their scouts to England to monitor him, likely when he is in action for Crystal Palace U21s.
Umeh-Chibueze wants to leave Crystal Palace, and it remains to be seen where he’ll end up next.
