'Makes no sense' - Ruud van Nistelrooy told what to do about Leicester City's Jamie Vardy issue

The search for answers to Leicester City’s problems, certainly on social media and hopefully at Seagrave too, has seen virtually every stone looked under.

There’s very little room to hide for anyone who has been part of a run of 11 defeats in 12 Premier League matches – no matter what they have achieved in the past.

Aside from Mads Hermansen there’s not a player in Ruud van Nistelrooy’s squad who can claim to be undroppable. Is there a single defender who can claim to be blameless? Which of City’s central midfielders are beyond reproach? Even the creative types just aren’t creating enough.

And of course as the club figurehead Jamie Vardy will come in for scrutiny, with suggestions van Nistelrooy needs to look at Patson Daka up front. City need goals and Vardy has scored once in his last 11 league games.

Foxes reporter Jordan Blackwell looked into the debate – and supporters joined in too. Here’s a selection of their opinions on the issue.

callaway: Complete Leicester city legend jv

But passed his best now time to bring in youth they can’t do any worse than the last 11 games you never know might be what Leicester need rv must

Believe in youth as he did at Manchester united

thepunky1: Vardys not to blame - you can’t score if no one passes the ball !

SirHenryatRawlinsonEnd: Kevin Philips was Leicester's striker coach when JV arrived. Shame JV can't pass on his art to anyone currently.

He wont get another contract unless as a player coach, slim chance of that IMO

Just like my best ever 25 year old car, I had to move on from it.

Mavididi did a few shifts as CF under Enzo???

globalfox: Create more chances not under a coach who cannot set up to press forward. We have tried all the hold the ball options and we are not good enough. go for broke Buonanotte must start, Daka upfront with El K alongside, a midfield of Faes, El K and Wilf. Back 4 of Coulibally Thomas Okoli and Coady, Mads speaks for himself. If we go down which I believe we will lets put some enjoyment back into the game you just never know.

Sunnyskies: Jamie Vardy IS Leicester City! Unlike all the other players who won the Premier title - he remained at Leicester. He plays with all his strength and with all his heart and is a great example to the other players. Alas he has been living on scraps all season. Every good team has a great centre half and that is City's real problem.

Foxesneverquit: I really feel for Vardy. Complete legend of the club who is being run into the ground. It makes no sense that his minutes have not been managed and the supporting cast hasn’t helped.

Against West Ham there was a moment where he received the ball out wide, ran 30 yards with it, looked up and you could see his face drop when he saw his only support was Bobby Reid amongst 3 defenders.

Rataefox: Completely agree. We cannot start to even blame JV for what he has given our club over the past decade! Lots are saying it anyway - change the system. Chuck Daka up front with him to help out as the way we are currently set up leads to hammerings each week. Let's not forget - over the past few seasons we have shelled out over £150 million in strikers and NONE of them have been as effective as Chris Wood is now.

Whitewalker: Absolutely no support. JV has been ploughing a lone furrow all year. Midfield has been non existent. Difficult to score when playing backwards all the time.
