Chelsea are joined by 3 other clubs in the pursuit of young defender. The player has been shinning bright in Premier League this season and is very likely to join a big club this summer.
The star in question here is Dean Huijsen of Bournemouth. The Cherries signed him in summer 2024 for £13 million. He is 19 years old and plays as centre-back. Ever since moving to England, Huijsen has played really well and has established himself as one of the best young players.
Huijsen has played 25 games this season and has been superb in defence. In addition, he has scored 2 goals displaying his offensive qualities. The 19 year old has impressed multiple top clubs and hence Bournemouth may lose him in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea joined by 3 clubs in pursuit of Dean Huijsen
The Blues have been linked with Huijsen since a very long time. They are keen to sign atleast 2 defenders in summer and as of now Marc Guehi and Huijsen are their top priorities. The 19 year old fits perfectly in their hiring criteria and hence we may see an official offer arriving from West London very soon.
However, Chelsea are not alone in the race for talented defender. Daily Mail have reported that Real Madrid are showing strong interest in Huijsen. In addition, the player is also looked upon by Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur.

Bournemouth want to keep Huijsen but they will find it very hard. The player has £50 million release clause in his contract that will be activated this summer. Hence, any interested club can trigger that clause and secure the services of 19 year old.
Chelsea need to focus on finishing in top four as playing in UCL can excite Huijsen. Madrid and Bayern are almost likely to qualify for UCL. In contrast, Spurs have no chance to play in UCL and hence may struggle to convince top players.
