2025 NFL free agency: Top players, team predictions, more | ESPN.com
Which teams could be active in free agency? New York Giants: Make-or-break years for front office regimes tend to lead to spending. That’s what general manager Joe Schoen faces. The Giants’ roster still needs upgrades, particularly at quarterback. So expect them to scour the earth for a veteran passer over the next 10 days. They have $47.6 million in cap space, which is more than enough to do damage. The Giants are also combing the veteran guard market and need defensive back help.

Charlie Weis makes bold Jaxson Dart claim — as Ole Miss QB rises up NFL draft boards | New York Post
The stats, the height, the weight, the arm strength, the ability to process, the escapability, the moxie, the accuracy, the smarts. Every aspect of anything that has to do with playing quarterback is dissected, inside and out.
This former NFL offensive coordinator and college head coach is sold on Jaxson Dart. “I know if you said, ‘OK, from what you know right now, we’re getting you a QB in the draft, which one do you want?’ It wouldn’t take me two seconds to give an answer.’’

The Giants watched Darnold shred their defense in one of his first starts with the Vikings. They also badly need help under center. Say hello to East Rutherford (again), Sam.
Rodgers to Titans? Russ to Raiders? Our prescriptions for 7 QB-needy teams | FOX Sports
Their top choice should be to try and trade up to No. 1 and get their franchise quarterback. Since it's a small jump, they might be able to do it without giving up a future first-round pick. It's the best chance of securing the franchise's long-term future, and it could give the GM and coach some breathing room on their hot seats, as long as Ward shows some promise during the season.
If they can't trade up, though, that veteran becomes their entire Plan B since he'd have to be their year-long starter and will be expected to win. The best choice there is Kirk Cousins, if he's available, because he'd come with very little financial risk, and at 36 will really just be looking for a short-term place to prove he's healthy. They will look at Aaron Rodgers, but his price tag will be higher, and he's five years older. Wilson makes sense, but his price tag will be higher, too.
Giants dream offseason: What they need to do in free agency, NFL Draft | The Record
Potential fits here include 49ers' Aaron Banks and the Colts' Will Fries. Banks will likely set the market price. He has played a lot at LG, so if that's his best spot, Jon Runyan Jr. can shift to RG without hesitation. Fries was born on Staten Island and grew up in Cranford, N.J. One other guard to keep an eye on is the Ravens' Patrick Mekari if he hits the market. The belief was that the Giants would be battling the Bears and Vikings for the top guards out there. But Chicago just made two trades for guards and it'd be a surprise if they added a third. Teven Jenkins will likely be leaving the Bears because of that, so he's someone that could be an option.
Identifying the perfect 2025 free agent match for every NFL team | PFF
New York Giants: CB Kristian Fulton. During a breakout 2024 with the Chargers, Fulton compiled a 66.6 PFF coverage grade in addition to a strong 73.1 PFF run-defense grade. In Cover 3 looks, Fulton’s 44.6 passer rating allowed when targeted ranked eighth among qualifiers, and the Giants utilized Cover 3 on 33.9% of coverage snaps last year. Plus, Fulton spent three years playing under defensive coordinator Shane Bowen in Tennessee.
NFL free agency 2025 predictions: One top target for every team | The Athletic
New York Giants: QB Aaron Rodgers. It’s hard to say how appealing the Giants would be to Rodgers, because they seemingly have a ways to go before they are ready to contend. But the Giants certainly need a quarterback after ending the Daniel Jones experiment last season and swinging and missing at Matthew Stafford. Could Rodgers be the answer? A young receiver like Malik Nabers does make New York a little more attractive.

Highest-graded interior defenders from the 2024 NFL season | PFF
3. Dexter Lawrence (89.9). One of the few bright spots for the Giants in 2024, Dexter Lawrence continued to prove he’s among the very best at his position. He was the only interior defender in the league to notch PFF run-defense (83.8) and pass-rush grades (81.4) of at least 80.0 in 2024.
Despite missing five games due to injury, Lawrence still recorded 10 sacks, 36 total pressures and 25 stops, which was only one fewer than Chris Jones despite Lawrence having played almost 400 fewer snaps.
Giants are favorites to trade for Cardinals QB Kyler Murray | USAToday.com
Another name coming into focus is a former No. 1 overall pick, Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals, who can be acquired via trade with the right enticement. Bookmakers at Bovada have made the Giants the favorites to make such a deal with Murray, which will begin with Big Blue forking over that No.3 overall pick.
