Fresh Jack Harrison update – this decision could shock Leeds United fans

Leeds United have a Jack Harrison sized problem to solve in the summer. The winger has been on loan at Everton since the summer of 2023 and the Toffees have an option to buy the winger on a permanent deal. However, Harrison has neither scored a goal nor an assist in 23 appearances for Everton this season. His performances have failed to convince David Moyes, who seems to have made up his mind about the player. Everton will not sign him on a permanent deal and he will be allowed to return to Leeds in the summer.

Harrison has shown little inclination towards returning to Leeds since they got relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

His decision to move to leave Elland Road the moment Leeds got relegated has made him persona non-grata for the Whites fans who do not want the winger back at the club in any form.

With Everton unwilling to keep him and a return to Leeds looking difficult, he has been linked with a return to the United States where he previously played for the New York City FC.

The winger is believed to be open to a return to the United States and initial talks have taken place between his representatives and officials of an unnamed MLS club.

However, it has been suggested that there is a chance that the winger could be offered a chance to stay at Leeds if he finds it hard to find another club.

Journalist suggests Harrison could have a future at Leeds United this summer

With Everton seemingly sure about not wanting to sign him on a permanent deal, it seems almost certain that the winger will return to Leeds in the summer.

A return to the MLS has been mooted but journalist Graeme Bailey stressed that there are complications to overcome before the winger could move back to the United States.

He pointed out that Harrison has a huge contract with Leeds and MLS sides would find it hard to meet those wage expectations in the summer transfer window.

Bailey insisted that given Harrison’s experience in the Premier League, he could still have a chance to stay at Leeds if they get promoted to the top flight.

“He’d have to be a DP (designated player). We know he likes it over there (USA). There is contact over there, I wouldn’t rule it out, but he’s on a very large wage in the Premier League”, Bailey told LeedsUnited.News

“He’s got until 2028 at Leeds; it would be very difficult for an MLS club to sign him, and he’d have to be a DP player – and there aren’t many DP slots available.

“I wouldn’t rule it out, but I’m not sure about that.

“Leeds have a good squad, but when you get a player with Premier League experience in Harrison, I wouldn’t rule him out of a return to Leeds.”

Leeds fans would find it hard to welcome back Harrison

Harrison’s career appears to be in limbo ahead of the summer transfer window. He is neither wanted at Everton nor would he be welcome at Elland Road.

Leeds supporters are not fans of players who were too quick to escape the club when they got relegated from the Premier League in the summer of 2023.

Brenden Aaronson is still to win over everyone in the Leeds fanbase despite working his socks off for the club this season and Max Wober has an uneasy relationship with Daniel Farke.

Can you name the Leeds game these 10 goal celebrations are from?

Harrison’s reluctance to even consider a return to Leeds has soured the fans towards him and he would not be welcome at Elland Road in the summer.

It is also difficult to see how Farke reacts to the situation if he is forced to find a way to reintegrate the winger into his squad ahead of next season.

For everyone concerned, it would be better if Leeds and Harrison find a way to part ways in the summer transfer window.
