Lecture by Kozarev to representatives of the European Law Students’ Association and young legal professionals

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Dušan Kozarev, delivered a lecture today to representatives of the European Law Students’ Association and young legal professionals on the political and security situation in Kosovo and Metohija.

Kozarev emphasized that territorial integrity, sovereignty, and the status of Serbia’s southern province are of the highest national and state interest for the Republic of Serbia.

He also spoke to the students about the difficult position of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, highlighting the continuous violations of their fundamental rights and the challenges they face, which stem directly from Pristina’s unilateral actions.

In this context, the Secretary General underscored Belgrade’s commitment to constructive dialogue and cooperation with the EU and the international community to contribute to peace and stability in the region.

He highlighted the significant role of the policies pursued by President Aleksandar Vučić, which are based on diplomatic negotiations, international engagement, and internal measures aimed at strengthening Serbia’s economic and institutional presence in Kosovo and Metohija.

Kozarev also drew students' attention to the importance and role of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, particularly focusing on the period when it was led by the current Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marko Đurić, from 2014 to 2020, as well as the key aspects of Serbia’s policy towards Kosovo and Metohija.

With the same dedication and intensity, Kozarev noted, Minister Đurić continues to advocate in the international arena for the rights of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija— the cradle of Serbian spirituality, history, and culture.
