Manchester United have yet to see the best of Mason Mount.
After joining Manchester United from Chelsea in 2023, Mason Mount has never had the chance to get a run of games together, meaning he has never been able to justify his hefty price tag.
Mount signed for United in a deal worth £55 million, even though he had just one year left to run on his contract at Chelsea.
The England international has only made a total of 32 appearances for the Reds, including 12 this season.
United fans have not seen the 26-year-old since Mount suffered an injury against Manchester City just 12 minutes into the game. He hasn’t been able to make an appearance since then.
Ruben Amorim has been supportive of Mount, but it remains to be seen how long United’s head coach will remain patient with his creative midfielder.

Frank Lampard compares Jack Rudoni to Mason Mount
Coventry City head coach Frank Lampard has revealed the similarities he has noticed between Jack Rudoni and current Manchester United star Mason Mount.
Speaking on the latest ‘EFL Unfiltered’ podcast, Lampard said Coventry playmaker Rudoni has a similar mentality to Mount, who he managed as a young player at Chelsea at Derby County.

Rudoni has been one of Lampard’s star players at Coventry since he took the job back in November as Mark Robins’ replacement.
The 24-year-old has 15 goal contributions in 35 matches, with nine of them coming after Lampard’s appointment.
“I have this real professional drive and if I see something and I want to do it, I’ll do it. If I can’t do it, I want to do it. If I do it well, I want to do it better,” Lampard said.
“I’ve always had that and I have taken it into management. It becomes a bit more taxing as you get older as well. It’s a bit more tiring. When you’ve got loads of energy in your 20s, it’s like I’m going to the moon! Then when you’re in your 40s, you have days where you go, ‘I need a day off’.
“I love seeing it in players, there’s some players that naturally have it. I always felt that with Mason Mount, working with him as a young player, I could see the look in his eye.
“I feel it a bit with Jack Rudoni here. He’s got something about him that says, ‘I want to train, gaffer, how can I get better? What can I do?’ That was me. And I love that, it’s very infectious to me.
“But I also understand as a coach that not everyone is the same. It doesn’t mean that Jack should be my ‘pet’. Everybody needs a version of something to get them to where they can maximise themselves. (My) job is to support that.”
Ruben Amorim loves Mason Mount
There is every reason to believe Amorim will remain patient with Mount after revealing to club media that he loves the Champions League-winner.
Mount’s mentality was praised by Amorim even though he has just one goal since joining United.
“Mason Mount… I have to tell you I love that kid,” Amorim previously said.
“You can look in his eyes that he wants this so bad. And this is the most important thing for me.”
United have not revealed a specific date for Mount’s eagerly awaited return. Hopefully, this time he can get a run of games together in the team.
It’s sickening that so many managers speak highly of Mount but he has been so unlucky with injuries at United. He has become a forgotten man at the club due to his long absences.
Questions could be asked of Mount’s future at Old Trafford in the summer unless he returns to full fitness before the end of the season.
