Jurgen Klopp reveals Liverpool return plans

Jurgen Klopp has revealed he plans to return to Liverpool later this season.

Klopp is fast approaching the 12-month anniversary of walking away from the Anfield hot seat after eight years which saw Arne Slot stepping into the void.

As the Reds closing on a seemingly inevitable 20th Premier League title under his successor, the 57-year-old confessed he is eyeing an emotional homecoming.

Now Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer, Klopp made the admission during a Q&A session of a fundraiser for Hout Bay United in Cape Town on Thursday evening.

The German has set his sights on the final-day visit of Crystal Palace on May 25 before meeting up with several of his former colleagues following any celebrations.

He said: “Yes, the plan is [to be in Liverpool] but not on the bus.

“I will be there with the people I saw on the bus. That’s the idea to be honest, but we will see.

“I think I will be there for the last game. I didn’t want to go earlier to be honest because I didn’t want to jinx it all the time.

“If I’m in the stadium for the first time and they lose, ‘oh f*** sake’. So I go there when it’s decided.”
