Everton open talks over another off-field appointment, Moyes will be delighted - insider

Everton manager David Moyes could be about to reunite with a familiar face from his time at West Ham United.

It is going to be a running theme for the remaining months of the season in Moyes’ press conferences, that he is going to be asked about potential changes at the club.

Everton are close to announcing Angus Kinnear’s appointment as CEO from Leeds United.

But there are some tough decisions needing to be made on Merseyside, with Everton needing to decide on the future of more than 10 players.

It is not just players who could see their futures cut from Goodison Park, with the likes of Kevin Thelwell expected to leave Everton at the end of the season.

The Friedkin Group have arrived on Merseyside and made some significant changes already and there could be even more to follow.

However, according to one club insider, there could now be another addition made to the Everton hierarchy.

It has been suggested talks have opened between the club and Rob Newman, who left his role as West Ham’s head of recruitment last year.

Newman is a face familiar with Moyes having worked with him for a number of years at the London Stadium.

The pair had a lot of success together and is another trustworthy option for Moyes to potentially wave the flag for.

Everton are also considering Dan Ashworth as a replacement to Thelwell, with the Friedkins really looking to shake things up on Merseyside.

A big few months lie ahead for the club under their new owners.

Rob Newman secured some big West Ham signings

With plenty of players heading for the door, Everton are expecting a busy summer transfer window.

By bringing in a head of recruitment, Everton will be preparing themselves for a summer where the Friedkins will finally be able to splash some cash.

Everton have been handed a huge PSR boost by refinancing their borrowings to construct Bramley-Moore Dock.

Newman is someone who has been responsible for some significant West Ham signings during his time in London.

Lucas Paqueta

Gianluca Scamacca

Nayef Aguerd

Alphonse Areola

Of course, the Paqueta signing is the one which will standout more than others, showing just how good of an eye Newman could bring to Everton.
