Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Dutch midfielder who can be made available this summer. The player can be a perfect replacement for Thomas Partey and Jorginho who are set to leave in summer.
The star in question here is Frenkie De Jong who plays for Barcelona. He moved to Spain from Ajax in 2019 and has since been their key players. He has so far played 241 games for Barca as both holding and central midfielder. In addition, he has also scored 19 goals and picked 20 assists for Spanish giants.
De Jong will enter the final year of his contract this summer. Barca are offering to extend it until 2030 but are planning to keep the wages same. In addition, they are open to let the players leave this summer if they reject contract extension.
Earlier, there were reports that Barca have joined th race to sign Bruno Guimaraes. If they do decide to make a move for Brazilian, the chances of De Jong leaving in summer will increase. As of now, the Dutch player has strong interest from England.

According to Diario Sport, Gunners are showing strong interest to sign De Jong this summer. They are keen to find replacements for Thomas Partey and Jorginho who are both set to leave this summer as free agents.
Arsenal are also linked with Martin Zubimendi who will cost as high as €60 million. De Jong can cost much less than him due to his current contract situation. The North London club were also linked with Kimmich but he has now signed contract extension.
It will be interesting to see if Mikel Arteta backs the move for De Jong this summer. But, it will also depend on the player and his willingness to move away from Barcelona.
