Snipes sent to Alejandro Garnacho agent – Chasing money and ruined Manchester United transfer

Alejandro Garnacho was strongly linked with an exit from Manchester United during the winter transfer window.

While Chelsea were mentioned as a potential destination, Napoli seemed more interested. A move didn’t go through, as there was talk that Garnacho’s wage demands blocked the Italian club from sealing the transfer.

Some more background has now emerged about Napoli’s interest in the Argentine and it will impact whether they move for the winger in the summer or not.

Il Mattino, as relayed by AreaNapoli, have reported that the Partenopei were left ‘annoyed’ by Garnacho’s entourage in January.

They blame the talent’s agent for increasing the player’s wage demands at the final step of the transfer. On top of that, it’s stated he also ended up asking for a high amount of commission as part of the move.

Napoli didn’t like any of these demands and backed out, as Manchester United had also remained firm in their valuation of €70m, according to the report.

This now means Antonio Conte’s side won’t come forward for Garnacho in the summer.

Manchester United will have to rely on other suitors for the 20-year-old in the summer, should they still be open to a sale.
