The Friedkin Group are determined to make changes at Everton ahead of the next season.

Everton new owners, The Friedkin Group, completed the takeover from Farhad Moshiri in December and have wasted no time in correcting the wrongs at the club and improving the club’s functioning.

Under previous owner Moshiri, Everton have been deemed guilty of erratic footballing decisions, affecting the club, both on and off the pitch. TFG are determined not to repeat the same mistakes.

The Toffees are set to move their home to the newly constructed Everton stadium at the Bramley-Moore Dock next season. Ahead of their move to the new 52,888 capacity stadium, TFG want to cut all the lose ends and run the Everton ship tightly.

Everton boardroom announcement on the cards

TFG have wasted no time in steadying the turbulent ship. They parted ways with Sean Dyche as the Toffees were dangling around the drop zone for far too long. Former manager David Moyes was appointed to guide Everton to safety and achieve a respectable finish in their final season at Goodison Park.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

The Scotsman has so far managed to that as Everton are 15 points clear of the relegation zone. The American owners have also showcased a sense of ruthlessness and pragmatic approach when it comes to decisions regarding player futures.

Abdoulaye Doucoure, who has been a key cog for the Toffees in recent seasons, is on course to leave at the end of the season as his deal is expires in June. Everton had the option to trigger a one-year extension but they have decided against it.

If Doucoure is let go, it will send a clear message that the new owners want to revitalise the squad by bringing in fresh faces. Apart from the Mali international, there are seven other players whose deals are set to expire at the end of the 2024-25 season.

Everton are looking to rebuild, not only on the first-team level but also on the recruitment and boardroom level. Director of football Kevin Thelwell will leave the club after this season’s end. Meanwhile, a new CEO is set to be announced officially soon.

According to the iPaper, Leeds CEO Angus Kinnear is set to takeover from interim CEO Colin Chong. The announcement could happen before the end of this week.

Contract decisions to be made for several Everton players

Alongside Doucoure, there are seven other players who are out of contract at the end of the season. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Seamus Coleman, Idrissa Gueye, Michael Keane, Ashley Young, Asmir Begovic and Joao Virginia could become free agents in the summer.

Loan deals of Jesper Lindstrom, Jack Harrison, Orel Mangala, Carlos Alcaraz and Armando Broja are also expiring and a decision should be made soon on their futures.

With a number of players in their final months of their Everton contract, TFG need to make a quick but calculated decision over the futures of the players.
