NFL Draft Profile: WR Tai Felton, Maryland

The Cleveland Browns need to add more speed, depth, and playmaking ability to the wide receiver room in 2025, and this year’s NFL Draft class is loaded with options in multiple rounds for Andrew Berry and Co. to choose from.

The Browns are currently set to lose two wide receivers in free agency next month, including Elijah Moore which isn’t terrible but Moore played a fairly large role in the offense in terms of snap count. In order for Cleveland’s offense to be at full strength, they need to have a much more effective and efficient passing game in 2025.

Maryland WR Tai Felton is a player who could be on the Browns’ radar heading into draft weekend due to his straight-line speed, loose hips, and YAC-ability.

What an Expert is Saying

“Felton projects as a slot receiver in the NFL. He will do well with the added space that playing in the slot affords him, but his team will need to foil run-game opportunities with his limitations there.

He may be best served in a heavier personnel-based offense to keep him off the field on early downs before subbing in as a formation adjuster.” - Kyle Crabbs, The 33rd Team

Fit with the Browns

Felton is a mid-to-late-round receiver who could provide some good depth at both “Z” and in the slot for Cleveland.

He can also play special teams, as he was a stalwart there for Maryland throughout his collegiate career as both a returner and gunner.

Browns Player Drafting Could Impact

Tai Felton would compete with players like Jamari Thrash and Michael Woods II for second-team snaps throughout training camp and the preseason.

Priority

Medium.
